Youngstown, Ohio | October 25th, 2016

I took a day trip back to my hometown this week for a doctors appointment, and since it was a total of 6 hour drive, I thought "I might as well get some shooting in." Had to make the trip count.

I did a shoot for one of my classes (it was based around TOMS) I shot in a new place in my hometown. I drive past this field on Western Reserve almost every time I'm home, but never stop. For the longest time I thought it was private property, but it's apart of Millcreek Metro Parks.

These are some shots of it. There's a trail you can walk along, too. I was surprised to see how big it actually was.

On Location Assignments | October 2016

Senior year, senior classes, senior work.

I'm taking an on location class this semester, and we've had three assignments. We're learning more about off camera flashes and how to balance it with natural light (which is right up my ally and something I need to continue to learn)

I'm happy with how these portraits have turned out. I'm working on coming up with creative ideas and lighting techniques so I can step out of my comfort zone. Cool things are about to happen.

Logan | October 23rd, 2016

Like I promised, or said, or whatever... more portraits and gels.

This set was a lot of fun. I tried warm colors and I'm really happy with how they worked out. I'm totally going to keep this up, even though it's not the natural light, however, like I said in the like post, I will find a way to make this work with natural light, but if I fail the studio will do.

Anyway, Logan is great and I'm glad he was willing to hangout for a few hours.

Marcus | October 20th, 2016

This was my first shoot back in the studio for senior year. I forgot how much I liked being in that space, but also how stressed it also made me. I like being in natural light, however, the convince of studio lighting in Ohio is a weird blessing.

I have done shoots like this in the past, and I also ended up going another shoot similar to this, and I do plan on doing more like this. This shoot with Marcus and the one I did with Logan a few days later (which I will be posting soon) were more successful compared to the past, because I've grown as an artist.

Clone Trooper ii | October 15th, 2016

Revisited an old shot with a good friend, who doesn't fully support that I haven't seen any of the Star Wars movies. (which is okay because I don't fully support that he doesn't like pugs, but that's why we work so well.)

Ryan is one of my favorite friends back in Youngstown to shoot with. He's also a photographer, so he's always in sync with me while shooting, he's also one of my best friends.

I also wanted to add a shot of the park to this post, because we woke up so early for this shot, I couldn't pass this up.

Mom | October 13th, 2016

My mom is something else. Not in a bad way, she's just this strong, goofy, amazing person.

I've always clicked with my mom. I look nothing like her, but man, I have her mouth, passion and attitude, and sometimes her hair style (only when she's being crazy and cuts my hair).

I had a Fall Break from school, so after spending time in Georgia I made a quick trip back to Youngstown to spend some time with her. She has seen me take photos, and has been the subject of my work once, but these photos are different. She's a great mother but not a great model. Kidding. She's wonderful at everything she does.

Columbus, Georgia | October 7th - 10th, 2016

On the weekend of October 7th, my sister and I packed her car and made the 10+ hour drive to Columbus, Georgia. Our cousin graduated Basic Training that weekend, so the trip was a must. We hadn't seen him in 11 weeks, and I'd never been past Dollywood, Tennessee.

Turns out, after spending four days in the south with some of my favorite people, I love it. I loved everything about these four days. I loved the weather, the location, the smell of the water and how the sun set seemed more beautiful there than ever before.

As of right now, I'm really leaning towards moving south post CCAD. Nashville, Knoxville, Chattanooga, Atlanta.. with everything that I've been through this past year, I was genuinely happy in the south.
